Old Towne Carriages Ghost Tours

Fall Birding Hike

  • Where: Friends of the Rappahannock Headquarters
  • When: Saturday, Nov. 3, 10 a.m. - 12 p.m.
  • Why Go: Take a walk along the Raooahannock Canal Path with University of Mary Washington Professor, Joella Killian to learn about the number of birds around the area. 
  • Price: $5 per person, $15 per family ($3/$12 for members)

Learn to Homebrew Day

  • Where: The Brew Shop at The Natural Path
  • When: Saturday, Nov. 3, 10 a.m. - 3 p.m.
  • Why Go: See demonstrations on extract brewing, kegging homebrew and more. 
  • Price: FREE

Gingerbread How-To 101

  • Where: George Washington’s Ferry Farm
  • When: Saturday, Nov. 3, 10:30 a.m. - 12:00 p.m. and 1:30 - 3:00 p.m. 
  • Why Go: Learn how to make a Gingerbread House masterpiece to enter into the Annual Gingerbread House Contest and Exhibit at Historic Kenmore. 
  • Price: $15, ages 15 & up, children must be accompanied by an adult

Paws and Whiskers Bazaar

  • Where: Dorothy Hart Community Center
  • When: Saturday, Nov. 3, 11 a.m. - 4 p.m.
  • Why Go: Looking for a unique, handmade gift for pet lovers? This event will host vendors as they sell their pet-themed gifts.
  • Price: FREE

Eddie Lebaron Autograph Event

  • Where: The Card Cellar
  • When: Saturday, Nov. 3, 12:30 - 1:30 p.m.
  • Why Go: Meet the first starting quarterback of the Dallas Cowboys and Washington Redskins quarterback from the 1950s
  • Price: $35

2nd Annual Fredericksburg Zombie Walk

  • Where: Hurkamp Park
  • When: Saturday, Nov. 3, 3 - 7 p.m.
  • Why Go: Dress up like a zombie and be a part of the parade of local zombies through Fredericksburg. Costume contests and prize drawings are all a part of the event. 
  • Price: FREE, bring a nonperishable food item or household cleaning product to donate to the Fredericksburg Area Food Bank and the Hope House. 

Swing Dance

  • Where: Picker’s Concert Hall
  • When: Saturday, Nov. 3, 7:30 - 11 p.m.
  • Why Go: Learn to swing dance with beginner lessons, and dance with people of all levels throughout the night. 
  • Price: $10

First Friday Events - Nov. 2

Art First Gallery - 824 Caroline St. - An All Member Show will be on display throughout November, featuring work from over 30 artists. Opening reception, 6 - 9 p.m.

Artful Dimensions Gallery - 911 Charles St. - “Textures” by Lynette L. Reed will be on display within the gallery. Opening reception, 6 p.m.

Brush Strokes Gallery - 824 Caroline St. - Kathleen Willingham will display her exhibit, “From Piedmont to the Bay - A Pastel Journey.” Regional and landscape scenes from around Virginia will be shown. Opening reception, 6 - 9 p.m.

Fredericksburg Area Museum and Cultural Center - 1001 Princess Anne St. - Yarn Bombing will take place outside of the Museum. See colorful displays of knitted or crocheted yarn on trees, signs, lamp posts, benches and other public forms, 5 p.m.

Fredericksburg Center for the Creative Arts - 813 Sophia St. - Explore work from artists across the country this month at FCCA. The Frederick Gallery will host “Light and Shadow,” an exhibit featuring several different types of media. The Members’ Gallery will show “Ave, Patina,” featuring Renaissance work from local artist Patte Ormsby. Opening reception, 6 - 9 p.m.

The Griffin Bookshop and Coffee Bar - 723 Caroline Street -
Fredericksburg resident and business owner Steve Collins of SJ Collins Photography debuts his documentary photo book Fredericksburg Today. Book release reception, 6 - 9 p.m.

Liberty Town - 916 Liberty St. - This month see the gallery’s newest show, 6”x6”x6”, featuring artwork that does not exceed 6 inches in any direction. Opening reception, 5 p.m.

Ponshop Gallery - 712 Caroline St. -  The “Battleground” Art Show will showcase Fredericksburg as a historic battlefield site. The exhibit will be curated by J. Coleman, and will display the relationship between Fredericksburg’s Civil War past and the present day. Opening reception, 6 - 9 p.m.

Sophia Street Studios - 1104 Sophia St. - See new work from a local group of artists. Opening reception, 6 p.m.

Weadon Studio and Fine Art - 305 Hanson Ave - Explore Fredericksburg’s newest gallery through its November Photography Show. Work from several different artists will be shown. Opening reception, 7 p.m.

Wm Mason Violin Shop - 509-1 Jackson St. -  Explore the world of Wm Mason II’s Violin Shop this Friday. With plenty of music to go around and a professional luthier on hand, walking into the shop is a learning experience for all. Opening reception, 6 p.m.
