James Monroe High School, a member of the Virginia High School League (VHSL), will play in the 3A East classification beginning fall 2013. VHSL recently reclassified all member schools into six classes.
At the conclusion of regular season play, JM student athletes will compete in Conference 27, which includes the following schools:
- Brentsville
- Culpeper
- James Monroe
- Kettle Fun
- Manassas Park
- Spotsylvania
