VDOT Prepares For Snow and Ice In Forecast

Virginia Department of Transportation crews are prepared in case there's snow and ice in the region this evening.

The Virginia Department of Transportation is ready for any snow and ice if it comes.

Snow removal teams are ready to hit the roads this afternoon in advance of the snow forecast this evening throughout the Fredericksburg area. The forecast is calling for up to an inch of snow and temperatures below freezing overnight with wind gusts of 30 to 45 mph.

In the Fredericksburg area, 18 VDOT and state-hired trucks have been deployed to Interstate 95 and crews will patrol primary and secondary roads in Caroline, Stafford and Spotsylvania counties to apply salt and abrasives if needed.
