NerdWallet Names Fredericksburg, Culpeper Best Places for Jobs

Need a job? Then Fredericksburg is the place to be, according to consumer resource website NerdWallet.

Fredericksburg ranked No. 7 for job seekers, according to the website. Culpeper placed one better on the top ten list. 

Both cities were highlighted for population growth between 2007 and 2011.  Fredericksburg saw a 15.1 percent population increase in those years, and Culpeper, 15.6 percent.

NerdWallet based their list of the 10 Best Places in Virginia for Job Seekers on the following criteria.

1.   Is the city growing? We assessed population growth of those 16 and over to ensure that the city is attracting workers.

2.   Do people earn high salaries? We included median household income in the calculation.

3.   Are most people employed? We looked at the unemployment rate.
