Rappahannock Electric Cooperative Names Director of Human Resources

Carolyn Schoonover has worked for REC for 16 years.

Rappahannock Electric Cooperative (REC) has promoted Carolyn Schoonover to director of human resources.  Schoonover has been with REC for 16 years serving in various human resources and accounting positions.  For the last two years she has been supervisor of the human resources department.

Schoonover will assist the manager of human resources and employee development in managing the day-to-day human resources operations. Her primary responsibility will be directing the human resources staff and executing personnel policies and practices, particularly in the areas of personnel records and reports, benefits and services, payroll, personnel research, employee orientation and dissemination of information to employees.

Schoonover is a member of the Society for Human Resource Management, the national level of the American Payroll Association and Richmond Chapter of the American Payroll Association.

She resides in the City of Fredericksburg with her family.

REC provides electric service to over 157,000 connections in parts of 22 Virginia counties. With its general office in Fredericksburg, Va., the Cooperative manages than 16,000 miles of power lines through its service area, which ranges from the Blue Ridge Mountains to the tidal waters of the Chesapeake Bay.
