Smoked Salmon Recalled at Costco

A number of illnesses have been reported in the Netherlands and U.S.

Customers who purchased Kirkland brand smoked salmon from Costco are being alerted this week that it may possibly contain traces of salmonella, according to an article posted on Newsday.

The recall resulted after an investigation when hundreds of people in the Netherlands reportedly became sick after consuming the product.

U.S. Centers for Disease Control and Prevention's Lola Russell said the federal agency has recorded 85 cases from 27 states since July 1. A possible link between the Netherlands and U.S. cases is being investigated.
