Dusting of Snow, Changing to Rain

Windy with up to one inch of rain predicted for Fredericksburg.

Residents awoke to a dusting of snow on lawns and cars this morning.  At 9:55 a.m. Stafford Airport reported "Unknown Precip", temperature at 33, and wind out of the Northeast at 10.4 miles-per-hour.

The Weather Channel predicts rain for the day in our area, possibly over one inch.  Winds are expected at 15 to 25 mph from the ENE.  The high is expected to reach 45, dropping to a low of 36 tonight, with rain diminishing.

Further north, there is a winter weather advisory for the DC area, with snow, sleet and freezing rain making driving dangerous. Many accidents have been reported in Stafford County.

The Capitol Weather Gang urges drives to use extreme caution. "Lots of slick travel around area this AM, most roads untreated with snow/frozen mix continuing," they Tweeted.

NBC29 reports 30 minute delays at the Charlottesville airport.
