Joshua Blum - Art Teacher at Battlefield Middle School. Sooo...I'm a little biased that he's my husband, but to quote a note he got from a student the other night, "All because of you." The girl had the courage to contact an artist and discuss the woman's paintings. The girl's in 7th grade. I'm so proud of my first year teacher!! :)

Mrs. Lisa Winn- she is an 8th grade science teacher at Thornburg Middle. She won the best teacher in the county. I used to have her and she is amazing!! Not only does she teach most of the 8th grade students, but she is in charge of all the sports and she leads the NJHS chapter we have at TMS. She teaches with amazing ease that comes from decades of experience. When she teaches something, it just makes sense. She is fair and lovable! I am so lucky I had her as a teacher, she is the best!!

MS. LISA PETRIELLA-grafton village elementary school. There is no better 3rd grade teacher...anywhere! The passion she feels for her students and job doesn't end at 4PM M-F. I often find myself listening to her selflessly talk about her genuine and sincere concerns for the education and well-being of our local youth, and am quick to remind her that when you're talking about work on a saturday with your best friend instead of gossiping...and your concern is not over your salary, then you're doing the exact work you are meant to be doing. Parents should be thankful to have their children in classrooms with people like this!

Agree! Ms. Petriella loves what she does and it shows. It's not work to her, but a calling. So many times the younger teachers don't get recognized, when they are the very ones who need it the most. It's hard to keep the good teachers and it's also hard to encourage more young people to go into this profession. Vote for Lisa!

Hugh Mercer's JODI EHLEN! Fabulous, caring, engaging, encouraging, fair and loving! She is a wonderful 1st grade teacher! She communicates with parents about their children whether it is good or bad! My son loves!
