Spotsy Sheriff's Search For Armed Robbers

Pizzeria shuttered due to security concerns.

Yet another armed robbery has Spotsylvania County Sheriff's searching for perpetrators. 

On May 7, around 9:40 p.m., Spotsylvania County Sheriff's responded to a a report of an armed robbery at the Pappa John's restaurant in the 5400 block of Southpoint Plaza Drive. 

According to police, an employee was standing by the door to the office of the restaurant when he heard the chime of the announcement bell go off, signaling that someone had entered the business. As the employee approached the front counter to interact with the customer, the suspect brandished a black pistol and demanded money. The employee cooperated, emptying the money from the register before demanding money from the restaurant safe. The employee cooperated and gave the suspects a drop bag. The suspects took the bag and ran from the business, last seen running toward Marquee Cinemas.

The suspect is described asa light skinned, possibly black or mixed race male, 5'8" tall, 140-160pounds, wearing an all black hooded sweatshirt with the hood pulled up. The suspect was also described as wearing black gloves and dark colored pants. 

An investigation is on-going and detectives are trying to determine if this incident is related to other robberies in the area.
