VDOT: Roads are in Minor Condition

The Virginia Department of Transportation says roads have been treated.

Primary and secondary roads are in minor condition in the Fredericksburg area after a cold drift brought snow and ice overnight with wind gusts over 30 mph, said the Virginia Department of Transportation. A minor rating means there is bare pavement, except for isolated spots of snow, ice or slush

Snow removal teams are working today to apply more salt and abrasives to primary and secondary roads. All lanes of Interstate 95 are clear and open to traffic.

Real-time listings of road conditions in Virginia are available on VDOT’s 24-hour travel information website, www.511Virginia.org. Motorists can also access 511Virginia by calling 511 from any telephone in Virginia.
