  • Why Go: Who doesn’t love ghost stories by the campfire? Hot chocolate and roasted marshmallows will be provided.

Halloween Walk

  • Where: The Griffin Bookshop and Coffee Bar
  • When: Saturday, Oct. 27, 8 a.m. and 1 p.m.
  • Why Go: Walk your own pace over a 3 mile or 6 mile trail while learning about the ghosts of Fredericksburg
  • Price: FREE

Downtown Trick-or-Treating

  • Where: Begin in the 200 block of Hanover Street
  • When: Saturday, Oct. 27, 11 a.m. - 2 p.m.
  • Why Go:  Kids in costume accompanied by a parent or guardian can pick-up trick-or-treat bags from City of Fredericksburg police, play in a moon bounce, enjoy music, then go door-to-door at participating downtown merchants for treats.
  • Price: FREE

Fall Fun Festival

  • Where: Dorothy Hart Community Center
  • When: Saturday, Oct. 27, 11 a.m. - 1 p.m.
  • Why Go: Celebrate fall with game, contests and fun this Saturday.
  • Price: $6 for children, parents are free, pre-registration required

Party In Pink Zumbathon

  • Where: Simply Ballroom
  • When: Saturday, Oct. 27,  12 - 2 p.m.
  • Why Go: Local Zumba instructors have teamed up with Susan G. Komen for the Cure to raise awareness and funds for breast cancer research. 
  • Price: $15 in advance, $20 at the door

Thrill the World Dance

  • Where: Spotsylvania Town Centre
  • When: Saturday, Oct. 27, 3 p.m.
  • Why Go: Be a part of the global effort to break the record of number of people performing Michael Jackson’s “Thriller” at the same time.
  • Price: FREE, participants are asked to bring a non-perishable food item

“Pretty Girls Rock” Symposium

  • Where: Strong Tower Ministries
  • When: Saturday, Oct. 27, 3 p.m.
  • Why Go: This event provides a safe environment for girls 12 and older to talk about issues that matter to them - peer pressure, bullying, social media and more. Adjunct professor Paula D. Royster will be the keynote speaker.

9th Annual Roastin’ at the Rivah Oyster Roast

  • Where: Fredericksburg Fairgrounds
  • When: Saturday, Oct. 27, 5 p.m.
  • Why Go: Enjoy all-you-can-eat oysters and BBQ with proceeds benefiting the Lloyd F. Moss Free Clinic
  • Price: $75, all guests must be 21 years or older

“Halloween on Broadway” Concert

  • Where: Potomac Point Winery
  • When: Saturday, Oct. 27, 6:30 p.m. and Sunday, Oct. 28, 3 p.m.
  • Why Go: The Chamber Chorale of Fredericksburg allows adults to enjoy Halloween in a mature environment, enjoying dinner and a concert. Guests are invited to wear costumes.
