'Window Wonderland' Supports Downtown Business

Trivia contest encourages visits to downtown stores during the holidays.

The Fredericksburg Department of Economic Development and Tourism and The Free Lance-Star Companies are hosting a downtown event through December 31 to encourage people to shop local this holiday season.

Businesses participating in Window Wonderland have placed a riddle in their holiday window display, referring to a favorite holiday movie. The movies were selected from an aggregate of internet databases for the top 100 holiday movies of all time, according to the Department of Economic Development and Tourism.

Guests visit each business to view the storefront window display, use the riddle posted in each window to guess the answers and complete an entry form.  Entry forms may be downloaded from visitfred.com or picked-up from the Fredericksburg Visitor Center.
