Join us on Saturday, December 8 in Market Square from 1 - 3 pm for Second Saturdays at the Museum! Your child is invited to learn about the Civil War and the life of a drummer boy in the Battle of Fredericksburg. Your child will make a drum and a song-book with Civil War period songs and have the chance to speak with Civil War re-enactors and learn about what the war meant to the various men, women, and children who experienced it.
Second Saturdays at the Museum is a regularly scheduled family program that includes hands-on activities, make-and-take crafts, and an opportunity for children to explore the Museum’s exhibits with their families. This free drop-in program is held on the second Saturday of each month from 1 – 3 pm, with varying topics and themes. No reservations are required. For additional information on this program, please contact Janelle Kennedy, firstname.lastname@example.org, or 540-371-3037, ext. 142.
