FTE presents an evening of absurdist comedies
Fredericksburg Theatre Ensemble presents a night of absurdist comedy, bringing Edward Albee's "The Zoo Story" and Craig Pospisil's "American Dream Revisited" and "Infant Morality" to Horseshoes and Handgrenades Aug. 9 at 8pm, followed by a reception with refreshments, an opportunity to found out how you can be part of FTE's creative endeavors, and a chance to vote for plays for FTE's next season.
Albee's Zoo Story, directed by Anna Penniman, tells the story of a man sitting quietly on a bench in Central Park, when another man, Jerry happens upon him. Jerry very much wants to interact with Peter and tell his stories of kimono wearing boarding house neighbors; snarling, angry dogs; and visits to the zoo.
Pospisil's American Dream Revisited, directed by FTE's first Young Director, Rebecca Law, is a heartwarming family comedy that tells the oft repeated tale of a family outing to the middle of the desert to kill grandma. Pospisil's Infant Morality, also directed by Rebecca Law, is a twisted, comedic short that encourages reviewing return policies and enhancing employee background checks.
Tickets are $10. Tickets are available online, www.fredericksburgtheatre.org, and at the door for all performances.
