More Than $3 Million Raised in Local United Way Fundraiser

Funds support programs focused on education, income and health, according to Rappahannock United Way.

Provided, Rappahannock United Way:

During Rappahannock United Way’s 2013 annual Campaign our RUW staff and supporters called on community members to help us on the Road to Impact — and the community responded in full support. $3,007,412 was raised in 2013 by our RUW Workplace, Local Government, and Potomac Combined Federal Campaigns.

These funds will support a vast number of programs in our local community that focus on Education, Income and Health. Rappahannock United Way will be able to invest in programs that  bring about long lasting change.

On Tuesday, March 11, 2014 RUW hosted its annual Campaign Celebration and Awards Breakfast. This event, attended by over 200 individuals, is held to recognize individuals and companies that made, and continue to make impact in our community possible with their generous donations and hard-work!

GEICO, Rappahannock United Way’s highest contributor, raised over $850,000 for the 2013 RUW Campaign. The company was inducted into the newly formed “Flagship Division." The Flagship designation is given to the company with the highest donation, commitment to Rappahannock United Way, Corporate Social responsibility and our Community. It is not solely based on campaign results, but on the impact the company makes in the community through Rappahannock United Way.  Jeremy Connors, Assistant VP of GEICO, expressed GEICO’s commitment to leading the fleet for many years to come.
