Avoid Holiday Photo Sabotage

Beauty Blog by Local make-up artist Jumana.

Picture this, you feel like a million bucks.  Your make-up is flawless and you walk into the party like you own the place.  Your evening if full of laughs with friends and good cheer.  But as the iPhones abound and flashes are all over the room, something ugly happens.

Photo sabotage happens to the best of us.  We think we are doing the right thing by slathering on our SPF 45 and setting our make-up with HD powder.  WRONG!!!  What these products do in photography is really atrocious.  SPF and HD (silica) powder cause flash back from flash photography, meaning you will look ghostly pale in pictures.

I am so excited to share some of my tips for gorgeous pictures. I recommend using only matte finish foundations that are SPF-free when you know a flash will likely happen.

The high points of your face (cheekbones, bridge of your nose, as well as collar bones) can look amazing with a light dusting of highlighting powder.  A brightness in those places is beautiful in pictures.  Make sure you have powdered your face well before parties and photo sessions.  Most importantly, give your SPF or moisturizer with sunscreen a night off when you are celebrating,

Happy Holidays and have a beautiful day!
