Bruce Morris Jacobs, 72

Bruce Morris Jacobs, 72 of Fredericksburg, passed away Thursday, May 08, 2014, after a long illness at his home surrounded by his loving family. 

A veteran of the US Navy, Bruce was originally from Northern Virginia where he worked for many years in law enforcement. Later on in his life he lived in Bangor Maine where he was a volunteer with the Bangor Veterans Hospital and was a private investigator. 

Bruce is survived by two daughters; Pamela J. Toler and husband Amos of Spotsylvania and Brenda Jacobs Payne and husband Robert of Fredericksburg, two sons; Brian Jacobs and wife Jennifer of Maryland and Michael Jacobs and wife Patricia of Spotsylvania, three brothers; Roger Jacobs of New Orleans, LA, Leslie Jacobs and wife Maryanne of Sparks Nevada and Neil Jacobs and wife Susan of Manassas, four sisters; Dottie Jacobs of N.C., Beth Jacobs of Bedford, PA, Judith Floyd and Colette Ward both of Oxford, N.C., six grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews. 

Bruce was preceded in death by his parents; Moses and Louise Jacobs and a sister Diane Lacross. 

Services will be private. 

In lieu of flowers, the family requests that expressions of sympathy take the form of donations in Bruce’s name to your local law enforcement agency or Fire Department or Hospice of Virginia, 1955 Jefferson Davis Hwy, Suite 110, Fredericksburg, VA 22401.
