Gerald Francis Mason, 66

Gerald Francis Mason, 66, of Spotsylvania County, passed away Thursday, May 8, 2014, at Mary Washington Hospital.

Mr. Mason was a welder for Universal Dynamics. He was an avid Dallas Cowboy fan, and a fan of NASCAR and WWE Wrestling.  He was a loving husband, father and grandfather.

He is survived by his wife of 35 years, Linda Mason; daughters Linda Smith, Loretta Lucas, Donna Ray, all of Fredericksburg, Michele Vandyk of Delaware, Angela Mason of Fairfax and Cheryl Brown of Reston; brothers Gary Mason, Larry Mason of Woodbridge; sisters Debbie Beltram of Woodbridge,  Sharon Mason Beard of Fairfax and Maria Edmonds of Texas; grandchildren Brittany Davis, Bianca Smith, Ryan Vandyk, Cameron Vandyk, Darrell Ray, Shane Ray, Stephanie Bailey, Emily Bailey, Chelsea Ray and Virginia Crystal Goodan, Christopher D. Brown, Earl Brown, Antwon Hundley, Keyria Mason, Elise Mason, Demetrius Mason, Cassandra Brown, Chris Brown and Cody Brown; 14 great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents James and Laura Mason; brother James Mason Jr.; son William “Billy” Lucas; and granddaughter Brianna Bailey.

The family will receive friends from 3 to 5 p.m. on Sunday, May 11, at Covenant Funeral Service, Fredericksburg.

A service will be held at noon, Monday, May 12, at the funeral home chapel. Interment will follow at Sunset Memorial Gardens.

Pallbearers will be Darrell Ray, Shane Ray, Cameron Vandyk, Robbie Davis, Christopher D. Brown, Antwon Hundley, Chris Brown and William Davis.
