Jack MacKenn, 72

John Fortune “Jack” MacKenn, 72, of Falmouth died Monday, May 5, 2014 at Mary Washington Hopsital.

Jack was born in New Jersey in 1942 and raised in New Monmouth, New Jersey where he was an Eagle Scout. He earned a bachelor’s degree in business from Penn State University. He later earned his MBA from the University of Maine, as well as a computer science degree from Park College. Jack retired as a LCDR from the U. S. Navy in 1987 after 27 years of service. He went on to work as a program manager for Northrup Grumman, as well as an instructor of finance and computer science at Park College.

He is survived by his wife of 46 years, Mickey MacKenn; three daughters, Deborah Cramer and husband John of Springfield, Christine Mackiewicz and husband Mike of Dallas, PA, and Cara Wolfe and husband Mike of Alexandria; eight grandchildren, Jake, Emily, Owen, Mack, Dylan, Logan, Natalie and Declan; three brothers, Robert MacKenn and wife Monica of Connecticut, Donald MacKenn and wife Janice of New Jersey, and Stephen MacKenn and wife Lily of Washington State; and several nieces and nephews.

The family will receive friends from 6:30 to 8:30 pm Thursday, May 8 at Covenant Funeral Service, Fredericksburg.

A Mass of Christian celebration will be held at 10:30 am Friday, May 9 at St. Mary Catholic Church. Entombment with military honors will follow in Sunset Memorial Gardens Mausoleum.
