Jim Townsley, 58

Waller James “Jim” Townsley Jr., 58, of Fredericksburg died unexpectedly Thursday, March 20, 2014 at Mary Washington Hospital.

Jim was employed as Vice President for Convenience Store Sales at Produce Source Partners in Ashland. He experienced many years in the food distribution industry, which afforded him the opportunity of making long-lasting friendships.  Jim loved entertaining friends and family at his home, he loved to cook, and his door was always open to those in need. He was an avid fan of classic movies.

Jim was preceded in death by his parents, Waller J. “Jack” and Betty Townsley.

Survivors include his wife, Karen S. Townsley; children, Allison Rae Townsley of Charleston, S.C. and James Scott Townsley of Fredericksburg; sisters Virginia Townsley Hall and her husband, Raymond and Frances Townsley Riddle and husband, Tom; step-children, Philip J. Huss Jr., David Winegardner, Cherie Winegardner and Carrie Campbell; six step-grandchildren; nephews Ray Hall of Richmond and Justin Riddle of King George County; and his niece, Heather Hall of Fredericksburg.

He is also survived by his loving friend Kylene Fleming and his beloved dogs, Kaci and Gypsy.

The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service.

A memorial service will be held at 3 p.m. Wednesday, March 26, at Covenant Funeral Service, Fredericksburg.

In honor of Jim’s love of all his living and deceased dogs and cats, donations may be made to the SPCA, 10819 Courthouse Road, Fredericksburg, VA 22408.
