Joan Louise Graves Vanderhoof, 78

Joan Louise Graves Vanderhoof, 78, of Fredericksburg died Thursday, May 15, 2014 .

Jo was born November 5, 1935 in Portland, OR, the daughter of Lewis T. and Gene A. (Smith) Graves.  She attended the University of Washington where she met her future husband, Rodney D. Vanderhoof.  Jo married Rod in Seattle, WA on December 26, 1954.  Throughout her life, Jo was an active community volunteer and staunch supporter of her family.  She will be greatly missed.

Jo is survived by her husband, Rodney D. Vanderhoof, her sister, Gene Mizell (James); and her children, Andrew Vanderhoof (Marie Thompson), Barbara Lemanski (Edward A., Jr.) Becky Christensen (Raymond Sheehan), and Catherine Winters (Stephen A.); her grandchildren, Jennifer Lemanski, Christine Lemanski, Ian Vanderhoof (Gricelda Ceja), Rachel Logan (Chad), Zachary Vanderhoof, and Gina Winters.

A private family memorial will be held on Samish Island, WA.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to Fisher House Foundation, Disabled American Vets (DAV) or St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital.
