John Henry Boldt Sr., 90

John Henry Boldt Sr., 90, of Fredericksburg passed away Tuesday, May 13, 2014 at Mary Washington Hospital.

Mr. Boldt was born in Altoona, Pennsylvania on June 11, 1923, the son of Henry and Laura Boldt.  He was a U. S. Navy veteran, having served during World War II.  On June 12, 1944, he married Lou McGunigal, who preceded him in death in December 2008. He was retired from the federal government.  Mr. Boldt was a member of Resurrection Lutheran Church and a member of American Legion Post 221.

Survivors include his three daughters, Susan Curlings (Ron), Nancy Jesswein (Tom) and Debra Sollars (Dale); son John Boldt Jr. (Mary).  He was blessed with 10 grandchildren and 11 great grandchildren. He is also survived by his loving companion, Nancy Plaskie.

The family will receive friends from 1:30 to 3 p.m. on Wed., May 21 at Resurrection Lutheran Church.  A service will be held at 3 p.m. Burial will be at noon Thurs., May 22 in Quantico National Cemetery.
