Joseph Warren Nixon, 49

Joseph Warren Nixon, 49, of Spotsylvania County passed away Saturday, May 10, 2014, at his home.

Joe was employed at eVigilent Solutions for the past year.  Our family would like to thank his employer for their generous support. He was previously employed at Security Systems Technology for more than ten years and made many good friends throughout his career.

Joe was a loving husband and devoted family man to his family and friends. He was the president of the Virginia Chapter of the Mettle Republic Motor Cycle Club and an avid member of the Roaring Renegades Mustang Club.  Joe loved to travel and made seven cross country motorcycle journeys with friends, solo, and two times with his wife, Terry.  He was able to see and do what most people plan, and wait their entire lives to do, but never get the chance.  Joe did things his way, maybe not the right way by some and maybe envied by others, but he lived his life the way he wanted to as much as time would allow.

He is survived by his wife, Terry Nixon; two children, Amber and Joey Nixon; mother, Marie Wolfe and husband Lloyd; father, Gary Nixon and wife, Rosa; two brothers, Matthew Nixon and son Travis, and Brandon Nixon and wife, Ashley; uncle, Lonnie Nixon; and best friend of 40 years Roger Pearson.

A memorial service will be held at 3:30 p.m. Thursday, May 15, at Covenant Funeral Service, Fredericksburg.
