Laverne Butler, 86

Laverne H. Butler, 86, of the Chancellor area of Spotsylvania County, passed away Sunday, April 6, 2014, at HCR ManorCare, Alexandria, VA.

Mrs. Butler was a member of Tabernacle United Methodist Church.

She was the widow of Howard C. Butler and was also preceded in death by a daughter, Cheryl.

Survivors include three children Tanya Alexander, Craig Butler (Laura), and Lora Butler; four grandchildren, Kim, Leigh, Stacey, and Michael; and great grandchildren, Seth, Madison, Trinity, Gage, and Baileigh; four sisters, Joyce Petitt, Dolores Dapp, Shirley Walsh, and Sharon Coates; and several nieces and nephews. 

The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m., Thursday, April 10, at Covenant Funeral Service, Stafford.

A service will be held at noon, Friday, April 11, at the funeral home chapel.  Burial will follow at Stafford Memorial Park.
