Michelle L. Decker, 65

Michelle L. Decker, 65, former long term resident of Spotsylvania County, passed peacefully Monday, July 7, 2014 surrounded by her loved ones at Mary Washington Hospital.

She is survived by the love of her life, Paul Decker; seven children, Kim, Kevin, Kelly, Keith, Chrisalie, Jason and Jessica; as well as 15 grandchildren.

Michelle was a devoted wife to her husband whom she loved so dearly. She was a kind and forgiving mother, full of patience and love for her children and all their many friends. She loved without prejudice all that married into the family including those that did not. But most of all, she was a caring friend to everyone she met. She loved her pets and enjoyed every aspect of gardening. She loved all things seafood from crab feasts with her family to fishing with her husband. There always shined the little girl from Maryland who would reminisce on her childhood memories of crabbing.

Michelle’s family wishes to thank all of the medical staff at Mary Washington Hospital who so graciously took care of her during her brief battle with cancer. For without their love and support we would have been lost. We also send our love to those in the congregation at New Life Outreach International for their support, love, and charity. Their love helped to bring her journey to the Lord Jesus Christ that much more fulfilling.

Her legacy of love will be passed on through all those she held so dear.
