Myrtle Brumley Alsop, 97

Myrtle Brumley Alsop, 97, of Fredericksburg passed away Friday, April 18, 2014 at Mary Washington Hospital.

Mrs. Alsop was the oldest member of Hillcrest United Methodist Church.  She was a member of the Spotsylvania Woman’s Club and the Fredericksburg Senior Citizens.  She enjoyed tole painting, flower arranging and crafts.

Survivors include her daughter, Anita Alsop; grandchildren Michael Alsop and wife Lori and Melody Robertson and husband Paul; great grandson Jarred Alsop.

Mrs. Alsop was preceded in death by her husband Thomas P. Alsop and a grandson David Alsop.

The family will receive friends from 5 to 7 p.m. Sunday, April 20 at Covenant Funeral Service, Fredericksburg.

A service will be held at 2 p.m. Monday, April 21, at the funeral home.  Burial will follow in Sunset Memorial Gardens.
