Richard Shackelford, 82

Richard Henry Shackelford, 82, of Stafford County passed away Sunday, April 6, 2014.

Mr. Shackelford was a U.S. Army veteran.  He had retired as a carpenter from Mary Washington College.

Survivors include his companion, Polly Olive; nephew Jerry Shackelford; nieces Ann Slayton, Barbara Self, Gail Shelton and  Wanda Eldert; and several great nephews and nieces.  He was preceded in death by his brothers, Lyman, John, Enoch, Howard, French and David Shackelford.

A service will be held at 2 p.m. Friday, April 11 at Covenant Funeral Service, Fredericksburg.  The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service at the funeral home.  Burial will be in Ramoth Baptist Church Cemetery.
