Shirley Jones, 70

Shirley B. Jones, 70, of Spotsylvania died Friday, July 4, 2014 at home.

Mrs. Jones was a loving wife, mother, and grandmother.  She enjoyed traveling, antiquing, and life, in general.  Mrs. Jones was also a member of Spotswood Baptist Church.  She knew her Lord and Savior.  Mrs. Jones had recently retired from serving as secretary and treasurer of Everett Jones Lumber Corporation.

Survivors include her husband, Everett “Burt” Jones, Jr. of Spotsylvania County, daughter, Heather Jones Dunavant and husband Christopher of Spotsylvania; son Hunter Burton Jones and wife Melissa of Spotsylvania; sister Bernice Wilson of Stafford County; and grandchildren, Colton Edward Jones of Spotsylvania, Braden Hunter Jones of Spotsylvania, Taylor Dunavant Niston of Italy, and Katlyn Elizabeth Dunavant of Spotsylvania.  She was preceded in death by her brother, Bernard Brown.

The family will receive friends 6-8pm Monday, July 7, 2014 at Covenant Funeral Service Fredericksburg chapel.

A service will be held at 2pm Tuesday, July 8, 2014 at the chapel.  Interment will follow at Sunset Memorial Gardens.
