Thelma B. Fisher, 95

Thelma B. Fisher, a long-time resident of Fredericksburg, passed away on Sunday, June 15 at home.

She lived 95 happy years and was a remarkable woman.  She was a native of Kokomo, Indiana and a graduate of Purdue University, where she met her beloved husband, Charles, who predeceased her in 1992.

She was very active in the community.  Mrs. Fisher was a 50 year member of the Presbyterian Church in Fredericksburg, serving in a number of capacities.  She was a long-time volunteer with the Mary Washington Hospital Ladies Auxiliary, the Fredericksburg Women’s Club and an avid and accomplished bridge player.

She is survived by her three loving children, David (Carol) of Hockessin, DE; Bruce (Beth) of Morristown, NJ; Diane Taylor (Jim) of Ft Pierce, FL; grandson, Kevin (Rebecca) DeHaven and great-granddaughter, Amanda of Huntersville, NC; two brothers and many nieces, nephews and grand nieces and nephews; step mother Erma Bugher of Sun City, AZ and countless friends.

A service will be held at noon Thursday, June 19 at The Presbyterian Church of Fredericksburg.  Burial will follow at 2 pm in Quantico National Cemetery.

The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service at the church house at 304 George St. Fredericksburg, VA.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to The Presbyterian Church of Fredericksburg, 810 Princess Anne St., Fredericksburg, VA 22401 or Capital Caring Hospice, 2900 Telestar Ct., Falls Church, VA  22042.
