$10,000 Reward in Store Clerk Shooting Investigation

Spotsylvania County Sheriff's Office also releases enhanced photos of suspect.

Investigators are hoping that enhanced photos of the suspect and a $10,000 reward will help solve the March 8 armed robbery and shooting of a convenience store clerk.

The victim, 32, was shot twice in the head after she turned away from the suspect at the Fas Mart Store, 11600 Brock Road. The victim is recovering, according to authorities.

Store surveillance footage was enhanced by the FBI, and Sheriff Roger Harris also announced Thursday that the reward for information leading to an arrest had grown to $10,000.

According to the Sheriff's Office description, the suspect is described as a white, male, approximately 5’6” to 5’10”, with a reddish brown beard or goatee. The beard also had white or gray highlights. The beard hangs down approximately two inches below the chin. He was wearing a black “hoody” type sweat shirt with Khaki style pants. The suspect was also wearing black gloves.

"This is a very dangerous suspect and he knows that law enforcement is looking for him," noted Harris. "Someone out there knows this man. Someone saw him that day."

The suspect asked the cashier for a tin of Grizzly smokeless tobacco and he initially placed a bottle of orange colored drink on the counter. The suspect made off with a countertop display, containing ephedrine base products, according to investigators.

"Detectives from the Spotsylvania County Sheriff’s Office are asking that anyone who was a customer in the store that night, from midnight until around 3 am, to please contact the Sheriff’s Office," according to a release. Any person who was in the store or purchasing gas during that time frame can call the Crime Solvers number at 540-582-5822.
