3 Arrested for Downtown Graffiti Spree

The Fredericksburg Police Department provided this information for April 8 - 10. Where an arrest is mentioned, it does not indicate a conviction.

Officers responded to witness reports at 12:15 a.m. on April 10 of three male
subjects who were spray painting graffiti on the railroad bridge in the 200 block Sophia St.

When officers approached from different directions, two of the subjects ran toward Lafayette Boulevard. They were quickly apprehended by an officer waiting near the VRE commuter lot. The third suspect fled on foot across the railroad tracks into Stafford County.

Several spray paint cans were collected on top of the bridge, as well as a number of empty and unopened beer cans. The investigation led to multiple locations where new graffiti was found on the:

  • CSX train tracks
  • CSX railroad bridge over Sophia Street
  • Concrete wall under train bridge
  • Two vehicles parked in the commuter lot
  • Side wall of St. Georges Episcopal Church
  • Sidewalk of Market Square
  • Storage container and shed belonging to English Construction
  • Wall and sidewalk at old Moose Lodge on Sophia Street

Ryan Curtis, 18, and Luke Kavlick, 18, both of King George, were arrested and charged with five felony counts of vandalism, two misdemeanor counts of vandalism, trespassing, trespassing with intent to damage property, resisting arrest and underage possession of alcohol.

The investigation also led to the identity of the third suspect, who was arrested later at his home in King George County. Todd Bobbitt, 21, was arrested for all of the same charges as his accomplices, with the exception of the alcohol offense.

Curtis, Kavlick, and Bobbitt were all incarcerated at the Rappahannock Regional Jail without bond. The investigation is ongoing.

LARCENY:
1500 block Princess Anne St, 4/9 3:40 p.m. – 4:20 p.m. A Supply resident reported that her wallet was stolen after she accidentally dropped it on the sidewalk. No suspects or witnesses at this time.

1200 block Princess Anne St, 4/8 – 4/9 9:15 p.m. A resident reported that the hubcaps were stolen from his vehicle. No suspects or witnesses at this time.

Baileys Pub, 1861 Carl D Silver Pkwy, 4/9 – 4/10 3:00 a.m. An employee reported that an unknown person broke a side window on her vehicle and stole her purse from the front seat. No suspects or witnesses at this time.

Hospitality House, 2801 Plank Rd, 4/9 11:30 p.m. A guest reported that he thought he heard someone in his room while he was in the shower. He later discovered that a credit card had been stolen from his wallet. No suspects or witnesses at this time.

VANDALISM:
1300 block Yates Cir, 3/30 – 4/8 10:00 a.m. A resident reported that graffiti was painted on the side of her house. No suspects or witnesses at this time.

DUI ARRESTS:
George Foster, 46, of Spotsylvania was arrested for DUI and refusal to submit to a blood or breath test in the 1500 block of William Street.

Travis Jarrells, 23, of Stafford was arrested for DUI and reckless driving in the 3800 block of the Blue Grey Parkway.

ARRESTS:
Tamonya Taylor, 19, of Woodford was arrested for underage possession of alcohol and felony shoplifting from Walmart.

Chantiere Anderson, 20, of Ruther Glen was arrested for underage possession of alcohol and felony shoplifting from Walmart.

Juvenile female, 17, was arrested for shoplifting from Walmart.

Tabatha Medrano, 33, of Spotsylvania was arrested for embezzlement.

Antonio Wynn, 27, of Stafford was arrested on a fugitive from justice warrant with an original charge from Mississippi of distribution of marijuana.

George Graves, 25, of Spotsylvania was arrested for inhaling noxious chemicals, contributing to the delinquency of a minor, and shoplifting from Walmart.

Jennifer Graves, 23, of Spotsylvania was arrested for contributing to the delinquency of a minor and shoplifting from Walmart.

Jeanell Rogers, 29, of Fredericksburg was arrested for petit larceny.

James Ross, 22, of Fredericksburg was arrested for breaking and entering and destruction of property.

Kristapher Wells, 22, of Alexandria was arrested for possession of alcohol on the riverbank.

Deaan Plummer, 41, of Spotsylvania was arrested for public intoxication.

James Groom, 41, of Fredericksburg was arrested for domestic assault and battery.

Kihmari Smith, 50, of King George was arrested for felony shoplifting from Walmart.

Joshua Zeller, 27, of Fredericksburg was arrested for trespassing.

Carly Ziegler, 21, of Purcellville was arrested for trespassing.

Robert Williams, 44, of Stafford was arrested for identity fraud, possession of marijuana, and providing false identification to law enforcement to avoid arrest.
