Arrests Include Thefts, Assaults and Threat to Bomb

Cpt. Mike Harvey reports the following arrests were made by the Spotsylvania Sheriff's Office during the week of Sept. 28 - Oct. 11, 2012.

Theft

On Sept. 28, a 20-year-old black male of Spotsylvania was arrested for shoplifting at Belk.

A 19-year-old white male of Ruther Glenn, VA, was arrested on Oct. 1 at Walmart Southpoint for petit larceny.

Two Spotsylvania white females, ages 53 and 27, were arrested on Oct. 1 at Target for grand larceny. They were also charged with contributing to the delinquency of a minor and conspiracy to commit a larceny.

A 27-year-old white female from Spotsylvania was arrested Oct. 1 for felony shoplifting and drunk in public in the 10000 block of Spotsylvania Ave.  The woman shoplifted from Food Lion as well as Dollar General.

On Oct. 2, a white female from Fredericksburg was arrested in the Spotsylvania Towne Centre area for petit larceny at Macy's department store.

A 22-year-old white female from Spotsylvania was arrested on Oct. 7 for shoplifting at the Walmart on Southpoint Parkway.

On Oct. 9, a 68-year-old white male of Spotsylvania was arrested for petit larceny from Belk.

A white female, age 35, from Spotsylvania was arrested Oct. 11 in the 11000 block of Rutherford Drive for obtaining services under false pretenses, and possession of stolen property.

Assault

On Sept. 29 a deputy obtained a domestic assault and battery warrant and an Emergency Protection Order (EPO) against a 43-year-old white male of Stafford after an assault occurred in the 5100 block of Jefferson Davis Highway. 

A 28-year-old white male of Spotsylvania was arrested on Sept. 29 for domestic assault and battery in the 300 block of Third Street. 

A 29-year-old black female of Spotsylvania was arrested on Sept. 29 for assault and battery of a juvenile on Bentley Court.

On Sept. 30, a 44-year-old black male of Spotsylvania was arrested for domestic assault and battery at Dick's Sporting Goods in the Mall.

On Oct. 3, an arrest was made of a 55-year-old white male of Spotsylvania for strangulation, assault & battery and prevention of help from 911 in the 7500 block of Po River Road.

A 23-year-old black female of Spotsylvania was arrested on Oct. 5 in the area of the Magistrate's office on warrants for threats to burn and domestic violence.

A 29-year-old white female of Spotsylvania was arrested on Oct. 6 for domestic assault and assault on a law enforcement officer in the 13700 block of W. Catharpin Road. 

Narcotics

On Sept. 30, a white male, age 24, of Spotsylvania, was arrested for possession with intent to distribute marijuana after a traffic stop on Harrison Road near Kilburn Crossing.

On Oct. 1, an 18-year-old white male of Spotsylvania was arrested in the area of the 6700 block of Smith Station Road for possession of marijuana.

A 32-year-old black female of Spotsylvania was arrested Oct. 1 for possession of marijuana at the Days Inn.

Two arrests were made at the Ramada Inn on Oct. 2. A 21-year-old black female of Spotsylvania was arrested for possession of marijuana, possession of cocaine, and assault on an officer.  A 20-year-old black male of Spotsylvania was also arrested for possession of marijuana and possession of cocaine.

On Oct. 2 a 61-year-old black male from Fredericksburg was arrested for possession of marijuana in the 5000 block of Jefferson Davis Highway.

Two Spotsylvania residents were arrested on Oct. 5, in the 5300 block of Jefferson Davis Highway. A 20-year-old black female was arrested for possession of cocaine, and a 19-year-old black male was arrested for possession of cocaine and possession of marijuana.

During a traffic stop at Jefferson Davis Highway. and Hood Drive on Oct. 7, a 37- year-old black male was arrested for marijuana.

A 25-year-old black male of Fredericksburg was arrested on Oct. 9 for possession of marijuana and driving while revoked.

During an Oct. 11 traffic stop at Route 1 and Interstate 95, a 19-year-old Hispanic male Spotsylvania was arrested for possession of marijuana.

DUI

A 26-year-old white male of Spotsylvania was arrested Sept. 28 for DUI in the area of Motts Run on River Road.

On Sept. 30, a Sheriff's Deputy arrested a 41-year-old white male of Spotsylvania for DUI and refusal.

A 30-year-old white female of  Spotsylvania was arrested Sept. 30 for DUI after a traffic stop at Lafayette Boulevard and Pender Street.

On Oct. 5, a 26-year-old Spotsylvania white male was arrested for DUI, DUI refusal, and child endangerment during a traffic stop at Bragg Road and Vidalia Street.

After a report of a motor vehicle accident, a 64-year-old white male of Caroline, VA, was arrested on Oct. 5 for DUI 1st offense, open container and no proof of insurance to the area of Andora Drive and Plank Road.

Arrests

On Sept. 30, a 26-year-old black male of Spotsylvania was arrested for reckless discharge of a firearm in the 200 block of Wyatt Street. The shot went through a neighboring residence. No one was injured.

On Oct. 1, a 33-year-old white female of Spotsylvania County was arrested for drunk in public in the area of the 5400 block of Hazel Court.

A black male, age 21 from Spotsylvania, was arrested Oct. 2 in the 6000 block of Governors Grant Lane for a threat to bomb or burn.

Two arrests were made on Oct. 2 for solicitation of prostitution. A 26-year-old black female from Fredericksburg was arrested on Eagle Drive for solicitation of prostitution, false ID to Law Enforcement, and two capiases (a writ commanding arrest) from Prince William County. A 64-year-old white male from Stafford was also arrested for solicitation of prostitution.

After a short foot pursuit on Sept. 30, a 16-year-old black female of Spotsylvania was arrested on an open detention order in the 5700 block of Steeplechase Drive.

On Oct. 6, a 30-year-old white male of Spotsylvania was arrested for drunk in public at Hard Times Cafe.

A 26-year-old black male of Spotsylvania was arrested on Oct. 6 for drunk in public in the 11000 block of Tidewater Trail.

A 36-year-old white male from Springfield, VA, was arrested Oct. 7 for brandishing, reckless handling of a firearm, and drunk in public in the 6800 block of Lanes Corner Road.

On Oct. 7, a white male, age 25, from Spotsylvania, wanted by the US Marshal Service on an outstanding warrant, was arrested in the 4000 Block of Harrison Road. He was also arrested for possession of drug paraphernalia and obstruction of justice. A 24-year-old white female from Spotsylvania was also arrested for making false statements and obstructing the legal process of an officer.

A 33-year-old white male of Spotsylvania was arrested on Oct. 10 at the 7-Eleven for intoxication in public.

On Oct. 10, a white male Spotsylvania resident, age 19, was arrested in the 5300 block Cedar Ridge Drive for intoxication in public.

A 33-year-old white male of Spotsylvania was arrested on Oct. 12 for drunk in public at the Wawa on Tidewater Trail.
