Bank Robbery Suspect Arrested In Cab

A Kentucky man has been charged with the robbery of BB&T bank this morning.

Spotsylvania County deputies arrested a man for a bank robbery while he was in a cab trying to get away this morning. 

Spotsylvania Sheriff's Office spokesman Mike Harvey said that deputies responded to BB&T Bank on Mine Road at 10:17 a.m. where bank employees provided a detailed description of the suspect. A detective saw a person who matched the suspect's description get into a cab at a nearby hotel and deputies pulled the cab over.

The passenger in the cab was Justin R. McKain, of Kentucky. Deputies also recovered a handgun, cash and clothing that was identical to the clothing worn by the robber.

Harvey said the bank robber gave a note to the teller demanding money, but he did not display his handgun. McKain was charged with robbery and he is in jail without bond. Harvey said McKain has outstanding warrants from Royersford, Pa. for a bank robbery on Dec. 17, 2011.
