Crime reported by City of Fredericksburg police department

An Orange resident reported to Fredericksburg Police that he advertised his ATV for sale on Craigslist and arranged to meet a buyer in the parking lot of Walmart at 1800 Carl D Silver Pkwy. between Sept. 11 and 12.

The buyer allegedly gave the victim a cashier’s check to pay for the ATV, but the check was later determined to be fake, said police. The investigation is ongoing.
