Clean Getaway in Theft from Car Wash Lot? Nope

Van tracked down in Stafford, according to Fredericksburg City Police.

A man was pulled over in Stafford County Monday afternoon in a car stolen from the parking lot of the Crystal Car Wash, according to the Fredericksburg Police Department.

Rajohn Robinson, 23, of King and Queen County, is charged with motor vehicle theft in the city and additional charges of reckless driving and eluding in Stafford County.

At 3 p.m. Monday, officers responded to a vehicle theft at the car wash at 1221 Jefferson Davis Highway.

"A customer reported that after he got his Toyota van cleaned and detailed, he left the business’ waiting room and was walking out to the van in the parking lot when he saw an unknown man drive the car out of the lot at a high rate of speed," according to police spokesperson Natalia Bledsoe.

Notified to be on the lookout, a Stafford County Sheriff's deputy pulled the car over on Interstate 95 at approximately 3:18 p.m. and Robinson was taken into custody.
