Craigslist Sale Leads to Robbery

ROBBERY:
3300 block Fall Hill Ave, 9/13 9:30 a.m. A Spotsylvania resident reported that she arranged to meet a subject in order to sell a cell phone that she had advertised on Craigslist.

The victim reported that when she met the unknown male in a parking lot, he pushed her backwards and grabbed the phone from her hand, then fled on foot. The victim was not injured.

The suspect was described as a black male in his 20s with a mustache who was wearing tan pants and a blue shirt. The investigation is ongoing.

ARMED ROBBERY:
1500 block Howard Ave, 9/14 11:40 p.m. Two men and two women, ages 18 - 22, reported that they were robbed by three male subjects, one of whom was armed with a handgun. The suspects were in a black Ford F-150 pickup and initially encountered the victims at the nearby 7-11, where the two groups arranged to meet at another location to attend a party.

When the victims followed the suspects to Howard Avenue near Harris Street, the suspects confronted the victims at gunpoint and demanded their wallets and cell phones. Nobody was injured during the incident.

Suspect #1 – black male, early 20s, approximately 6’ with a medium complexion, wearing a black T-shirt with a graphic design. Suspect 1 was the driver of the pickup and was armed with a handgun.

Suspect #2 – black male, early 20s, light skinned, wearing cargo shorts and a white T-shirt.

Suspect #3 – black male, early 20s, light skinned, wearing a red and white plaid shirt and had gold capped teeth.

The investigation is ongoing.

BURGLARY:
Captain D’s, 2626 Princess Anne St, 9/14 12:05 a.m. A witness called 911 to report that he saw a subject who appeared to be breaking in through the drive-thru window of the restaurant.

The unknown subject was reported to be dressed in black clothing and the witness saw him leaving the scene in a black Honda Civic. Police discovered evidence that entry was gained to the business but nothing was stolen from inside. The investigation is ongoing.

600 block Greystone Ct, 9/14 5:00 p.m. – 10:45 p.m. A resident reported that an unknown person or persons entered his apartment and stole jewelry from a bedroom. It is unknown how entry was gained to the residence. The investigation is ongoing.

LARCENY:
1100 block Winchester St, 9/12 – 9/13 6:30 a.m. A resident reported that an unknown person stole a laptop computer from his unlocked vehicle and also damaged the vehicle’s steering column. No suspects or witnesses at this time.

1500 block Forest Village, 9/13 5:00 p.m. A resident reported that her wallet was stolen after she accidentally left it on the steps leading to her building. No suspects or witnesses at this time.

Aladins, 2052 Plank Rd, 9/14 1:30 a.m. A patron reported that an unknown person stole her cell phone from her table. No suspects or witnesses at this time.

900 block Monroe St, 9/2 – 9/14 8:45 p.m. A resident reported that an unknown person stole an iPad from his unlocked vehicle. The investigation is ongoing.

VANDALISM:
1200 block Dixon St, 9/12 – 9/13 1:30 p.m. A property owner reported that an unknown person broke a rear window on her vacant rental house. No suspects or witnesses at this time.

1503 Powhatan St, 9/14 12:00 a.m. – 8:00 p.m. An officer reported that he found graffiti spray painted on the water tower. No suspects or witnesses at this time.

1700 block Franklin St, 9/14 – 9/15 10:00 a.m. Two residents reported that an unknown person broke the side mirrors off their vehicles. No suspects or witnesses at this time.
