Details Emerge in Citizens Bank Robbery

Suspect still at large, manhunt continues, following robbery at Fredericksburg bank.

Fredericksburg Police have release more details on this morning's bank robbery at on the Spotsylvania-Fredericksburg line.

Witnesses told police that a man entered the bank shortly before 10 a.m. on Thursday, Dec. 22. The suspect handed a note to one of the tellers which police say "indicated his intent."

The robber did not display a weapon during the robbery, and the teller gave him an undisclosed amount of cash. Shortly afterwards, the robber fled from the scene. He was last seen running behind the Regal Cinema next to the bank.

officers from the Fredericksburg Police Department and Spotsylvania County Sheriff's Department were on the scene within two minutes of the robbery being called in.

A massive search continues for the suspect, who is described as a white male, about 30 years old with a thin build and no facial hair. At the time of the robbery he was wearing dark sunglasses, a black stocking hat, gloves and grey hooded sweatshirt.

Police employed a Spotsylvania County K9 unit to try and track the suspect down, but were met with no luck.

Police discovered a backpack and some of the stolen money on the ground behind the theater. Police say the teller slipped a dye pack in with the cash which then activated.
