FREDERICKSBURG POLICE INCIDENTS MONDAY, Aug. 8, 2011

AGGRAVATED ASSAULT:

Celebrate Virginia Live, 2200 Gordon W. Shelton Blvd, Aug. 5 10:00 p.m. An off-duty officer reported a male with severe trauma to his face was found lying on the ground. The victim stated that he did not know who assaulted him. The investigation is ongoing.

NARCOTICS VIOLATION:

1300 Forest Vlg, Aug. 7 12:30 a.m. Officers responded to the apartment complex for a report of a large party. Once officers arrived, it was determined that there were approximately 60 individuals in the apartment. An unknown male subject was observed throwing two backpacks out of a bedroom window. Collection of the backpacks revealed a handgun and bags of marijuana. There was also a wallet containing an identification card within one of the backpacks. The investigation is ongoing.

Tyrece Branchcomb, 19, of Spotsylvania was arrested following this incident after he was found loitering in the area after being told to leave. Branchcomb was arrested for public intoxication, underage possession of alcohol, and resisting arrest.

FRAUD:

Wal-Mart, 1800 Carl D. Silver Pkwy, Aug. 5 3:00 p.m. A loss prevention employee reported a fraudulent Coinstar voucher for $914.63 had been turned in and cashed. The suspect is described as a bald, heavy set black male, approximately 40 years old and was wearing dark glasses, white shorts and a dark blue t-shirt at the time of the incident. The investigation is ongoing.

Wegman’s, 2281 Carl D. Silver Pkwy, Aug. 7 4:00 p.m. A loss prevention employee reported that a Hispanic male and two Hispanic females attempted to steal cash from the store by offering large bills to pay for merchandise and take the bills back and still accept the change. The group of individuals were successful twice and unsuccessful twice. The investigation is ongoing.

HIT AND RUN:

Wawa, 1140 Carl D. Silver Pkwy, Aug. 5 4:40 p.m. The victim reported that her vehicle was struck from behind by a silver Honda that then left the scene. No suspects or witnesses at this time.

900 block Sylvania Ave, Aug. 6 1:50 a.m. The victim reported that she heard a loud noise and when she looked outside she saw a green minivan leaving the area. The victim then noticed damage to her vehicle. No suspects or witnesses at this time.

400 block William St, Aug. 6 10:00 a.m. The victim reported that her vehicle was struck from behind and damaged by a silver Mercury that then left the scene. No suspects or witnesses at this time.

400 block Amelia St, Aug. 6 2:00 p.m. The victim reported that his vehicle was struck and damaged while it was parked on the street. No suspects or witnesses at this time.

3000 block Vidalia St, Aug. 6 1:00 p.m. – 12:00 a.m. The victim reported that her mailbox had been struck by a vehicle while she was at work. No suspects or witnesses at this time.

LARCENY:

Greenbriar Shopping Center, 2042 Plank Rd, July 28 – Aug. 5 10:30 a.m. An HVAC technician reported that the copper coils were stolen from several rooftop air conditioning units. The investigation is ongoing.

Celebrate Virginia Live, 2200 Gordon W. Shelton Blvd, Aug. 5 10:00 p.m. The victim reported her purse was stolen after she left it on a folding chair in the area. No suspects or witnesses at this time.

Regal Cinemas, 3301 Plank Rd, Aug. 6 1:00 a.m. The victim reported that when she returned to her car her passenger side window was broken and a Victoria’s Secret bag of recently purchased clothing and other miscellaneous clothing was stolen from her vehicle. No suspects or witnesses at this time.

Regal Cinemas, 3301 Plank Rd, Aug. 6 1:15 a.m. The victim reported his motorcycle helmet and gloves were stolen from atop his motorcycle. No suspects or witnesses at this time.

2400 block Van Buren St, Aug. 6 10:45 a.m. The victim reported that his bicycle was stolen from his yard. No suspects or witnesses at this time.

702 Antiques, 702 Princess Anne St, Aug. 6 4:30 p.m. The store owner reported his camera was stolen from his office while it was left charging on his desk. No suspects or witnesses at this time.

Ledo’s Pizza, 2801 Plank Rd, Aug. 6 6:30 p.m. An employee reported her cell phone was stolen while she was at work. No suspects or witnesses at this time.

1500 block Winchester St, Aug. 1 – Aug. 5 12:00 a.m. The victim reported that his bicycle was stolen from his garage. No suspects or witnesses at this time.

VANDALISM:

The Rocking Horse Gallery, 803 Caroline St, Aug. 5 2:30 a.m. A neighbor called to inform the store owner that a topiary had been shattered. No suspects or witnesses at this time.

The Flower Shop, 415 William St, Aug. 5 1:45 p.m. The property owner stated that she found graffiti on the rear of the building. No suspects or witnesses at this time.

DUI ARRESTS:

Christopher Kelly, 31, of Stafford was arrested in the 200 block of Jefferson Davis Hwy.

Peter Carey, 24, of Fredericksburg was arrested in the 1500 block of Idlewild Blvd.

ARRESTS:

Juvenile, 17, was arrested for underage possession of alcohol.

Kevin Getward, 25, of Stafford was arrested for public intoxication, providing false identification to law enforcement and providing false identification to avoid arrest.

Vikthor Roman, 25, of Spotsylvania was arrested for malicious wounding and carrying a concealed weapon.

Lenetta Gilbert, 43, of no fixed address was arrested for public intoxication.

Juvenile, 14, was arrested for shoplifting from Target.

Steven Butler, 22, of Boston, VA was arrested for public intoxication.

Scott Cox, 40, of Fredericksburg was arrested for public intoxication.

Donald Webb, Jr. 53, of Fredericksburg was arrested for drinking in public.

Timothy Brown, Jr., 19, of Fredericksburg was arrested for possession of marijuana.

Anthony Gardiner, 49, of Fredericksburg was arrested for shoplifting from the ABC Liquor Store (William St).

Jasmine Robinson, 20, of Spotsylvania was arrested on a warrant from Spotsylvania County for failure to appear.

Keyzha Benson, 23, of Fredericksburg was arrested for disorderly conduct.
