Falmouth Fire Department Hosts 'Heart of Steel'

Display of the piece of 9/11 steel is part of a Tunnel to Towers Foundation fundraiser for amputee veterans.

A piece of 9/11 steel will be displayed at the Falmouth Volunteer Fire Department August 3 - 10 as part of the Tunnel to Towers Foundation fundraiser to build homes for amputee veterans.

Patriot Guard member Dennis Markle and members of Fire and Irons Station 161 motorcycle club will deliver the Heart of Steel plaque Saturday at 9 a.m. Markle's ride to Falmouth from Richmond is being dedicated to Seth Allan Mooris, the brother of a Falmouth firefighter who perished on the 105th floor of World Trade Center 1.

Citizens are invited to the August 3 arrival of the plaque and to stop by the Falmouth Fire Station throughout the week to see it.  The Heart of Steel will leave the fire station at 9 a.m. Saturday, August 10.  The station is located at 250 Butler Rd., Fredericksburg.
