'Felonious Assault' at The Commons at Cowan Boulevard

An argument turned physical, police said.

Fredericksburg Police responded to The Commons at Cowan Boulevard apartments at about 9 p.m. Jan. 10 for a report of a fight.

They found a 22-year-old male in the parking lot with a broken tooth and possible broken jaw, police spokesperson Natatia Bledsoe said. The victim was transported by ambulance to Mary Washington Hospital.

Witnesses reported the victim and the assailant were inside an apartment with several other adults and children when an argument turned physical.

"The other party involved in the fight was still on the scene when police arrived," Bledsoe said.

Reginald Wester, 21, of Fredericksburg, was arrested for felonious assault and incarcerated at the Rappahannock Regional Jail under no bond.

The investigation is ongoing.
