Fredericksburg Police Find Pot Growing In Home

A search warrant was served at a home on Princess Elizabeth Street on July 2.

Fredericksburg police detectives searched a home in the 400 block of Princess Elizabeth Street where they allegedly found a marijuana growing operation in the basement.

Fredericksburg Police spokeswoman Natatia Bledsoe said detectives searched the house at about 7:30 p.m. on Monday and they recovered several marijuana plants and packaged marijuana from the basement apartment.

Robert Nelson, 30, of Fredericksburg, was charged with illegay manufacturing of marijuana and possession with intent to sell marijuana. He was being held at the Rappahannock Regional Jail without bond.

Weapons Violations

900 - 1300 block Princess Anne St., Tuesday, July 3, 8:40 p.m. A 55-year-old Stafford resident reported that the driver of a silver Mazda pointed a handgun at him as they both traveled on Princess Anne Street toward downtown. The Mazda driver was later identified as Matthew Bocson, 36, of Stafford. The Stafford County Sheriff’s Office took Bocson into custody at his home on July 4 and he was turned over to City police. Bocson was charged with brandishing a firearm and aggressive driving and he was incarcerated at the Rappahannock Regional Jail under a $1000 bond. A handgun was also recovered at Bocson’s residence.

IHOP, 2831 Plank Rd., Wednesday, July 4, 3 a.m. The security guard for Hospitality House reported that he heard several gunshots coming from the area of IHOP and he saw a silver four-door sedan exiting the IHOP parking lot at a high rate of speed. Officers discovered shell casings in the front parking lot of the restaurant, but there were no direct witnesses or any reported injuries. The investigation is ongoing.

Attempted Burglary:

900 block Monument Ave., Sunday, July 1 - Tuesday, July 3, 7:30 p.m. A resident reported that an unknown person removed the window screen from a rear window. It did not appear that entry was gained to the apartment. The investigation is ongoing.

Larceny:

800 block Cornell St., Sunday, July 1 through Tuesday, July 3, 9 a.m. A resident reported that an unknown person rummaged through the interior of her vehicle and stole a quantity of loose change. No suspects or witnesses at this time.

Devonshire Dr., Juen 27, 2 p.m (reported 7/3) A resident reported that her wallet was stolen from her purse. A possible suspect has been identified and the investigation is ongoing.

Regal Cinemas, 3301 Plank Rd., Monday, July 2, 7-9 p.m. A King George resident reported that a bag containing her laptop and checkbook was stolen from the trunk of her vehicle. No suspects or witnesses at this time.

Virginia Outdoor Center, 3219 Fall Hill Ave., Tuesday, July 3, 10-10:40 a.m. A Stafford resident reported that his cell phone was stolen from his backpack while he was in the river. No suspects or witnesses at this time.

Vandalism:

City Hall, 715 Princess Anne St., Monday, July 2 – 7/3 8:30 a.m. An employee reported that graffiti was painted on the rear exterior wall of the building. No suspects or witnesses at this time.

100 block Keavy C.t, 7/2 – Tuesday, July 3 6:30 a.m. A resident reported that the rear tires on his vehicle were slashed. No suspects or witnesses at this time.
