Police: Victim Stabbed Multiple Times in Argument

Suspect charged with malicious wounding, according to Fredericksburg Police Department.

Fredericksburg Police responded to reports that a man was bleeding severely after being stabbed multiple times in the abdomen at a residence on the 200 block of Mayfield Avenue. The incident occurred Wednesday, June 25, at 8:45 p.m.

A 38-year-old resident of a home on Mayfield Avenue and his stepfather, who also lived in the residence, were reportedly arguing inside the house prior to the assault. The victim's step-father was still on the scene when police arrived.

Michael Conway, 56, of Fredericksburg, was arrested and charged with malicious wounding, domestic assault and battery, on top of two outstanding warrants for probation violation, according to a police report. Conway was incarcerated at the Rappahannock Regional Jail under no bond.
