Gov. Gives UMW Grad Policy Office Promotion

Andrew Lamar will serve as deputy director of Governor McDonnell's policy office.

Governor Bob McDonnell announced a slate of appointments as part of a restructuring of his policy office earlier today. Included in those appointments is Andrew Lamar, a graduate of the University of Mary Washington, who was promoted to deputy director of legislative affairs and policy advisor.

"In order to ensure even greater success moving forward, we have restructured the policy office and put together an accomplished group of professionals who will continue to work tirelessly to advance this administration’s ambitious policy goals," said McDonnell in a press release announcing the appointments.

According to McDonnell's Press Secretary Jeff Caldwell, Lamar will work with the Director of Legislative Affairs to develop the administration’s legislative strategy and will oversee coordination among the Governor’s Policy Office, the governor’s cabinet, and the General Assembly to advance the governor’s policy agenda.
