Indecent Exposure at Library, Identity Fraud at Hospital

Two Oct. 23 crime events reported by the Fredericksburg Police Department.

A 23-year-old Culpeper resident studying at Rappahannock Regional Library on Oct. 23 was the victim of a man exposing himself, according to Fredericksburg police.

The girl told police she was studying at a table when a male subject approached her and asked if he could also sit at the table. The victim said a few minutes later she looked over at the suspect and saw that he had his genitals exposed, according to police reports.

"The victim immediately left the table to notify a staff member and the suspect left the building through a door that exits on to Lewis Street," said police reports.

The suspect was described as a black male in his mid to late 40s with short black hair and medium complexion. The suspect was wearing a sleeveless red shirt and carrying a black coat and bag.  The investigation is ongoing.

In another crime, a Prince William County resident reported that a female fraudulently used her personal information to obtain medical services at Mary Washington Hospital between Sept. 26 and Oct. 23, according to police.  A suspect has been identified, and the investigation is ongoing.
