James Monroe Edges Heritage, Secures Berth in State Final
The Yellow Jackets head to Lynchburg on Dec. 14.
James Monroe beat Heritage 14-13 Saturday, earning the Yellow Jackets a spot in the Virginia High School League (VHSL) state championship for the third consecutive year.
In 2011 and 2012 James Monroe lost the state final to the Brookville Bees.
This year the Yellow Jackets will play Northside High School. The game begins at 12 p.m on Dec. 14 at Liberty University in Lynchburg.
