Woman reported the incident, which happened on Westmont Drive near Highland Road, Saturday morning to Fredericksburg City Police.

A 22-year-old Fredericksburg resident reported to police today that a man tried to abduct her while she was jogging near Oak Hill Cemetery.

Fredericksburg Police Department spokeswoman Natatia Bledsoe said the woman, who recently moved to the city, reported the incident happened at about 8 a.m. while she was jogging on Westmont Drive near Highland Road.

Bledsoe said the victim told police that a man in an older model white four-door vehicle stopped to ask her a question and when she stepped closer to his vehicle the suspect opened the passenger side door and grabbed her. Bledsoe said the victim told police she was almost pulled into the car, but she was able to get away without injury.
