Leavells Road: 2 Days, 2 Stickups

Spotsy sheriff's think recent armed robberies are related.

Spotsylvania County sheriff's think may be connected. The most recent robbery happened on May 3 around 8:51 p.m. when a man walked into the 2 Sisters Market on the 11100 block of Leavells road demanding money. 

The suspect entered the store through an unlocked front door as employees were closing up for the day. Without saying a word, the suspect aimed a handgun at one of the clerks before pushing the clerk away and grabbed money out of the cash register. The suspect did attempt to speak with the clerk, but the clerk could not make out his words. The suspect then took money which the clerks had been counting before fleeing in the direction of a nearby apartment complex. 

Witnesses describe the suspect as 5'9" tall, around 150 pounds, light skinned black or hispanic man. During the robbery the suspect was wearing a black sweatshirt, light blue jeans, white tennis shoes and a black mask covering his face.

Police say this description closely matches that given by witnesses to . According to police, shortly before 9 p.m. on May 2, a man walked into the Formosa Cafe, brandished a gun at employees before making off with an un-disclosed amount of money.  

Anyone with information is asked to call the Spotsylvania County Sheriff's Office at 540-582-7115. Vigilant residents may also text SEE911 to CRIMES (274637) to report information confidentially.
