Lottery Tickets Reported Stolen from 7-Eleven

Fredericksburg man charged and arrested after City of Fredericksburg police officer spotted him the day after the alleged robbery.

A 27-year-old Fredericksburg man has been arrested and charged with grand larceny, larceny of lottery tickets and trespassing after he allegedly jumped over a 7-Eleven counter on Sept. 29.

According to the City of Fredericksburg police, an employee of the 7-Eleven at 1613 Dixon St. reported that a male subject entered the store while he was in a back room, jumped the counter and stole an unknown number of lottery tickets before fleeing the scene.

"The employee recognized the subject as someone who had been inside the store on previous occasions and had been barred from the premises," said a press release from police spokesperson Natalia Bledsoe. "The next morning, an officer spotted a man in the area of the 7-Eleven who matched the description of the larceny suspect. The subject ran from the officer, but he was found a short time later inside a house on Duke Street."
