Man Charged in Spotsylvania Stabbing

An argument resulted in a suspect stabbing a man with a folding pocket knife.

The Spotsylvania County Sheriff’s Office reports a man was stabbed Dec. 1 during an argument in the parking lot outside Hard Times Cafe.

Deputies responded at 10:30 p.m. Saturday to the 5000 block of Jefferson Davis Hwy for a reported fight involving knives. They found a 27-year-old white male victim with a single stab wound to the abdomen.

The victim was transported to Mary Washington Hospital, where he was treated for his wound, said Captain Mike Harvey of the Spotsylvania Sheriff's Office.

The suspect was identified as 54-year-old Robert Lee McLucas, a white male of Reva, Va.

Deputies said it is unclear what caused the argument between the two men.  Both had allegedly left the Hard Times Cafe when they began to fight. McLucas allegedly pulled a folding pocket knife and stabbed the victim.

McLucas was taken into custody without incident, and was charged with Malicious Wounding.
