Man In Critical Condition After Hit By Car

For the second time in a day, a pedestrian was struck by a vehicle in Spotsylvania County.

Charles A. Poole of Spotsylvania County is in critical condition after he was hit by a vehicle while walking near the 6300 block of Jefferson Davis Highway.

The Spotsylvania County Sheriff's Office says that Poole, 52, was hit sometime around 8:25 p.m. March 8. A Nissan Maxima driven by a 28-year-old man from Caroline County hit Poole while he crossed Jefferson Davis Highway. The sheriff's office says the driver’s wife and child were also in the vehicle.

"The driver remained on scene and called 911 to report the accident," said Spotsylvania Sheriff's Office spokesman Mike Harvey. "The Spotsylvania Sheriff’s Office Accident Reconstruction Team is investigating the accident. More information will be released as the investigation progresses."
